Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 2.68%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V), which rose 4.13% or 0.24 points to trade at 6.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) added 4.11% or 1.25 points to end at 31.70 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) was up 3.87% or 1.28 points to 34.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV), which rose 1.50% or 0.105 points to trade at 7.105 at the close. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) added 1.84% or 0.63 points to end at 34.79 and Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) was up 2.06% or 0.73 points to 36.17.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 140 to 32 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 4.11% or 1.25 to 31.70.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 2.96% or 1.46 to $50.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.95% or 1.41 to hit $49.26 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.69% or 9.15 to trade at $1327.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1103, while EUR/GBP fell 0.78% to 0.8228.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.41% at 95.80.
