Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 2.41%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Elisa Oyj (HEL:ELI1V), which rose 5.79% or 1.64 points to trade at 29.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HEL:NRE1V) added 4.93% or 1.20 points to end at 25.56 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HEL:STERV) was up 4.33% or 0.330 points to 7.955 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Metso Oyj (HEL:MEO1V), which fell 1.11% or 0.24 points to trade at 21.30 at the close. Outotec Oyj (HEL:OTE1V) declined 1.11% or 0.054 points to end at 4.820 and Konecranes Oyj (HEL:KCR1V) was down 0.22% or 0.06 points to 27.67.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 157 to 28.
Shares in Metso Oyj (HEL:MEO1V) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.11% or 0.24 to 21.30.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 1.40% or 0.70 to $51.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.21% or 1.02 to hit $47.27 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.96% or 10.90 to trade at $1122.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.06% to 1.1108, while EUR/GBP fell 0.71% to 0.7286.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.64% at 96.50.
