Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 2.22%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which rose 10.59% or 0.396 points to trade at 4.136 at the close. Meanwhile, Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) added 6.66% or 1.59 points to end at 25.45 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was up 6.60% or 0.4350 points to 7.0300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which fell 7.05% or 2.75 points to trade at 36.28 at the close. Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) added 0.28% or 0.010 points to end at 3.550 and Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) was up 0.32% or 0.11 points to 34.41.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 94 to 91 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 6.60% or 0.4350 to 7.0300.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 1.43% or 0.66 to $46.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.62% or 0.73 to hit $45.71 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.24% or 3.10 to trade at $1277.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.86% to 1.0931, while EUR/GBP fell 1.34% to 0.8785.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.58% at 98.45.
