Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 2.01%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V), which rose 5.00% or 0.82 points to trade at 17.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 4.85% or 0.1820 points to end at 3.9380 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) was up 4.12% or 1.32 points to 33.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA), which fell 0.49% or 0.025 points to trade at 5.080 at the close. Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) added 0.47% or 0.035 points to end at 7.560 and Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV) was up 0.52% or 0.20 points to 38.32.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 145 to 29 and 20 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was down 0.32% or 0.16 to $49.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.29% or 0.14 to hit $48.19 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.36% or 17.95 to trade at $1338.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1141, while EUR/GBP rose 0.82% to 0.8402.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 95.70.
