Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 1.94% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which rose 5.10% or 0.222 points to trade at 4.572 at the close. Meanwhile, Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 4.50% or 0.1840 points to end at 4.2740 and Metso Oyj (HE:MEO1V) was up 4.08% or 0.87 points to 22.17 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V), which fell 0.34% or 0.05 points to trade at 14.53 at the close. Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) added 1.09% or 0.046 points to end at 4.250 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) was up 1.23% or 0.40 points to 32.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 135 to 44 and 8 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.07% or 0.50 to $46.26 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.06% or 0.48 to hit $44.93 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.11% or 1.50 to trade at $1359.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1047, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8510.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 96.66.
