Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 1.37% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Wartsila Oyj Abp (HEL:WRT1V), which rose 5.27% or 2.09 points to trade at 41.77 at the close. Meanwhile, Metso Oyj (HEL:MEO1V) added 4.28% or 1.05 points to end at 25.61 and Cargotec Oyj (HEL:CGCBV) was up 3.93% or 1.34 points to 35.44 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HEL:NDA1V), which fell 0.50% or 0.060 points to trade at 11.860 at the close. Elisa Oyj (HEL:ELI1V) declined 0.43% or 0.13 points to end at 30.02 and Nokia Oyj (HEL:NOK1V) was down 0.41% or 0.025 points to 6.160.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 121 to 52 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.32% or 0.18 to $57.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.21% or 0.11 to hit $51.30 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.33% or 3.80 to trade at $1143.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.66% to 1.0878, while EUR/GBP fell 0.45% to 0.6970.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 97.77.
