Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.73% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 4.59% or 0.1960 points to trade at 4.4700 at the close. Meanwhile, Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 4.07% or 0.186 points to end at 4.758 and Metso Oyj (HE:MEO1V) was up 3.16% or 0.70 points to 22.87 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V), which fell 0.65% or 0.25 points to trade at 38.20 at the close. Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) declined 0.54% or 0.14 points to end at 25.64 and Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) was down 0.41% or 0.13 points to 31.76.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 114 to 59 and 17 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 4.52% or 2.09 to $48.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 4.31% or 1.93 to hit $46.69 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.66% or 22.50 to trade at $1334.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.25% to 1.1086, while EUR/GBP fell 1.95% to 0.8348.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 96.35.
