Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.71% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V), which rose 3.55% or 0.275 points to trade at 8.030 at the close. Meanwhile, Konecranes Oyj (HE:KCR1V) added 2.45% or 0.54 points to end at 22.61 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was up 2.30% or 0.180 points to 7.995 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V), which fell 5.42% or 2.13 points to trade at 37.19 at the close. Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) declined 4.00% or 0.172 points to end at 4.130 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) was down 2.38% or 0.114 points to 4.684.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 91 to 39 and 18 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.37% or 0.64 to $47.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.95% or 0.43 to hit $45.88 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.04% or 13.85 to trade at $1318.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1004, while EUR/GBP fell 0.65% to 0.8352.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 97.20.
