Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 5.26% or 0.285 points to trade at 5.705 at the close. Meanwhile, Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 4.59% or 0.190 points to end at 4.326 and Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) was up 4.01% or 1.02 points to 26.47 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA), which fell 3.80% or 1.16 points to trade at 29.35 at the close. Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V) declined 2.53% or 0.38 points to end at 14.66 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) was down 2.36% or 0.78 points to 32.22.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 127 to 58 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.80% or 1.16 to 29.35.
Brent oil for January delivery was down 1.06% or 0.49 to $45.87 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.28% or 0.58 to hit $44.69 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.45% or 5.75 to trade at $1267.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.0888, while EUR/GBP fell 1.27% to 0.8682.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 98.80.
