Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.70% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 4.88% or 0.2180 points to trade at 4.6880 at the close. Meanwhile, Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) added 4.84% or 0.245 points to end at 5.310 and Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V) was up 1.71% or 0.25 points to 14.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V), which fell 1.41% or 0.47 points to trade at 32.76 at the close. Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) declined 1.29% or 0.33 points to end at 25.31 and Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMAS) was down 1.05% or 0.40 points to 37.52.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 115 to 64 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.88% or 0.2180 to 4.6880.
Brent oil for September delivery was down 4.42% or 2.14 to $46.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 4.23% or 1.98 to hit $44.82 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.71% or 9.45 to trade at $1344.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.1106, while EUR/GBP rose 1.04% to 0.8438.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.37% at 96.19.
