Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.69%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V), which rose 4.53% or 0.375 points to trade at 8.660 at the close. Meanwhile, Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) added 3.68% or 0.245 points to end at 6.895 and Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) was up 2.91% or 0.74 points to 26.16 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV), which fell 6.28% or 1.78 points to trade at 26.55 at the close. Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V) declined 2.29% or 0.27 points to end at 11.53 and Konecranes Oyj (HE:KCR1V) was down 1.01% or 0.20 points to 19.64.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 129 to 51 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V) fell to 5-year lows; losing 2.29% or 0.27 to 11.53.
Brent oil for April delivery was up 3.63% or 1.10 to $31.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.63% or 0.17 to hit $28.11 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.48% or 5.80 to trade at $1192.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.1233, while EUR/GBP fell 0.60% to 0.7757.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 96.30.
