Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.31% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 3.22% or 0.1280 points to trade at 4.1080 at the close. Meanwhile, Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V) added 1.52% or 0.19 points to end at 12.72 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) was up 1.49% or 0.23 points to 15.68 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Amer Sports Corporation (HE:AMEAS), which fell 1.88% or 0.49 points to trade at 25.57 at the close. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) declined 1.62% or 0.090 points to end at 5.450 and Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) was down 1.10% or 0.33 points to 29.57.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 97 to 68 and 24 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 1.84% or 0.81 to $44.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.79% or 0.76 to hit $43.23 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.10% or 1.30 to trade at $1255.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1326, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.7878.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.21% at 94.27.
