Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV), which rose 2.35% or 0.170 points to trade at 7.415 at the close. Meanwhile, Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) added 1.15% or 0.40 points to end at 35.12 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was up 1.08% or 0.0360 points to 3.3560 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV), which fell 0.72% or 0.25 points to trade at 34.67 at the close. Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V) declined 0.62% or 0.08 points to end at 12.73 and Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) was down 0.59% or 0.024 points to 4.046.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 91 to 79 and 18 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for July delivery was up 3.69% or 1.68 to $47.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.11% or 1.39 to hit $46.05 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.67% or 8.45 to trade at $1273.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.1429, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.7902.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.48% at 93.77.
