By Ryan W. Neal - Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) reported first-quarter earnings of 25 cents per share Wednesday, beating Wall Street's estimate of 24 cents.
Further, March-quarter revenue surged 72 percent to $2.5 billion.
Also, Facebook reported that it now has 1.28 billion monthly users worldwide, and 63 percent of those users (802 million) use the social network every day.
More than 1 billion people now use Facebook on a mobile device, and 609 million people access Facebook on a mobile device every day; 341 million people only use Facebook on a mobile device.
What's more, the company's mobile advertising business continued to improve, with mobile ads representing 59 percent of Facebook’s total ad revenue, compared to 30 percent for the same quarter, a year ago.
The social media giant also generated an average of $2 of revenue from each of those users.
