China stocks mixed at close of trade; Shanghai Composite down 0.15%

Investing.com – China stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Software & Computer Services, Technology and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors led shares higher while losses in the Telecoms, Mobile and Gas, Water & Multiutilities sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite fell 0.15%, while the SZSE Component index climbed 1.18%.

The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Zheneng Elec P (SS:600023), which rose 10.05% or 1.090 points to trade at 11.940 at the close. Meanwhile, S Churin Group (SS:600891) added 10.04% or 1.340 points to end at 14.690 and Chixia Develop (SS:600533) was up 10.04% or 0.740 points to 8.110 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Qingdao Soda (SS:600229), which fell 10.00% or 3.460 points to trade at 31.140 at the close. Zhejiang Furun (SS:600070) declined 9.98% or 2.500 points to end at 22.550 and Deluxe Family (SS:600503) was down 8.73% or 2.610 points to 27.300.

The top performers on the SZSE Component were Goertek Inc (SZ:002241) which rose 10.00% to 40.70, Gree Electric Appliances Inc of Zhuhai (SZ:000651) which was up 7.46% to settle at 62.21 and Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town Co Ltd (SZ:000069) which gained 5.77% to close at 11.74.

The worst performers were Suning Commerce Group Co Ltd (SZ:002024) which was down 3.14% to 18.53 in late trade, BOE Technology Group Co Ltd (SZ:000725) which lost 2.33% to settle at 5.04 and Weifu High-Technology Group Co Ltd (SZ:000581) which was down 2.00% to 34.71 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 487 to 462.

Shares in Zheneng Elec P (SS:600023) rose to all time highs; rising 10.05% or 1.090 to 11.940. Shares in S Churin Group (SS:600891) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 10.04% or 1.340 to 14.690. Shares in Chixia Develop (SS:600533) rose to 3-years highs; up 10.04% or 0.740 to 8.110. Shares in Gree Electric Appliances Inc of Zhuhai (SZ:000651) rose to all time highs; rising 7.46% or 4.32 to 62.21. Shares in Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town Co Ltd (SZ:000069) rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.77% or 0.64 to 11.74.

The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was up 3.32% to 31.78.

Gold for August delivery was up 0.08% or 1.00 to $1189.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.05% or 0.60 to hit $58.28 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.46 to trade at $63.03 a barrel.

USD/CNY was down 0.03% to 6.1995, while EUR/CNY fell 0.05% to 6.7869.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 97.11.
