Investing.com – China stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil Equipment Services & Distribution, Travel & Leisure and Life Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite added 2.16%, while the SZSE Component index climbed 2.04%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Lingyuan Steel (SS:600231), which rose 10.07% or 0.770 points to trade at 8.420 at the close. Meanwhile, Sh Dingli-B (SS:900907) added 10.04% or 0.103 points to end at 1.129 and China East Air SS (SS:600115) was up 10.04% or 1.160 points to 12.710 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jiang Su Etern (SS:600105), which fell 10.01% or 3.310 points to trade at 29.750 at the close. Yantai Yuanche (SS:600766) declined 10.01% or 1.930 points to end at 17.350 and Sunyard (SS:600571) was down 10.00% or 16.880 points to 151.920.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Cangzhou Mingzhu Plastic Co Ltd (SZ:002108) which rose 10.04% to 15.57, Luzhou Lao Jiao Co Ltd (SZ:000568) which was up 10.02% to settle at 28.88 and Guangdong Golden Dragon Development Inc (SZ:000712) which gained 10.01% to close at 39.11.
The worst performers were Jiaozuo Wanfang Aluminum (SZ:000612) which was down 10.00% to 10.98 in late trade, Navinfo Co Ltd (SZ:002405) which lost 10.00% to settle at 63.00 and Zhangjiagang Furui Special Equip (SZ:300228) which was down 10.00% to 90.91 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 534 to 431.
Shares in Sh Dingli-B (SS:900907) rose to all time highs; gaining 10.04% or 0.103 to 1.129.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was down 2.05% to 29.12 a new 1-month low.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.14% or 1.60 to $1185.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.19% or 0.12 to hit $60.27 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $63.33 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.04% to 6.2070, while EUR/CNY fell 0.61% to 7.0001.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 94.93.
