Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Consumption and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 1.33% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3), which rose 2.99% or 0.73 points to trade at 25.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) added 2.91% or 1.20 points to end at 42.40 and Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA (SA:GOLL4) was up 2.23% or 0.17 points to 7.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Braskem SA (SA:BRKM5), which fell 4.68% or 0.65 points to trade at 13.25 at the close. Cia de Saneamento Basico do Estado (SA:SBSP3) declined 4.04% or 0.77 points to end at 18.31 and Duratex SA (SA:DTEX3) was down 3.67% or 0.30 points to 7.87.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 181 to 97 and 6 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.31% to 28.99.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.11% or 1.30 to $1205.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.30% or 0.79 to hit $59.93 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 1.47% or 1.90 to trade at $127.15 .
USD/BRL was up 1.88% to 3.0951, while EUR/BRL rose 0.97% to 3.4102.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.80% at 96.23.
