Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Financials and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 1.10%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3), which rose 1.14% or 0.170 points to trade at 15.030 at the close. Meanwhile, Qualicorp SA (SA:QUAL3) added 1.01% or 0.19 points to end at 18.91 and Klabin Unt (SA:KLBN11) was up 0.65% or 0.11 points to 17.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3), which fell 3.43% or 0.52 points to trade at 14.63 at the close. JBS SA (SA:JBSS3) declined 3.11% or 0.38 points to end at 11.85 and Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) was down 2.81% or 0.63 points to 21.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 260 to 120 and 34 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 5.93% to 34.86.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.05% or 0.65 to $1342.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.61% or 1.16 to hit $45.64 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 0.96% or 1.46 to trade at $153.23 .
USD/BRL was down 0.09% to 3.2410, while EUR/BRL rose 0.13% to 3.6462.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 95.20.
