Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumption, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Telefonica Brasil SA (SA:VIVT4), which rose 3.54% or 1.53 points to trade at 44.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Vale SA (SA:VALE3) added 1.97% or 0.42 points to end at 21.77 and Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) was up 1.95% or 0.21 points to 11.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which fell 11.45% or 1.35 points to trade at 10.44 at the close. Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3) declined 4.28% or 1.43 points to end at 32.00 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3) was down 4.17% or 0.25 points to 5.75.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 199 to 190 and 32 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vale SA (SA:VALE3) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.97% or 0.42 to 21.77.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 4.69% to 30.35.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.51% or 6.45 to $1267.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.52% or 0.76 to hit $49.20 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.04% or 0.07 to trade at $163.95 .
USD/BRL was up 0.80% to 3.1401, while EUR/BRL rose 0.96% to 3.4249.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 98.61.
