Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 1.61%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3), which rose 5.42% or 0.240 points to trade at 4.670 at the close. Meanwhile, EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) added 4.68% or 0.36 points to end at 8.06 and Smiles ON (SA:SMLE3) was up 4.39% or 1.93 points to 45.86 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which fell 2.39% or 0.23 points to trade at 9.39 at the close. Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) declined 2.22% or 0.35 points to end at 15.45 and Cia Energetica de Minas Gerais (SA:CMIG4) was down 1.22% or 0.07 points to 5.65.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 186 to 124 and 23 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.49% to 41.15.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.18% or 2.30 to $1292.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.51% or 1.22 to hit $49.78 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 0.86% or 1.23 to trade at $141.62 .
USD/BRL was down 0.51% to 3.4021, while EUR/BRL fell 0.14% to 3.8466.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.62% at 93.72.
