Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Public Utilities and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.50% to hit a new 3-years high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Banco do Brasil SA (SA:BBAS3), which rose 5.86% or 1.52 points to trade at 27.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Petroleo Brasileiro SA PN (SA:PETR4) added 3.94% or 0.64 points to end at 16.90 and CCR SA (SA:CCRO3) was up 3.86% or 0.65 points to 17.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Qualicorp SA (SA:QUAL3), which fell 4.11% or 0.85 points to trade at 19.85 at the close. Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3) declined 2.15% or 0.13 points to end at 5.93 and Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (SA:CYRE3) was down 1.85% or 0.20 points to 10.61.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 207 to 157 and 27 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.20% to 32.99.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.01% or 0.15 to $1255.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.87% or 0.44 to hit $49.91 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.20% or 1.86 to trade at $156.98 .
USD/BRL was down 0.11% to 3.2022, while EUR/BRL rose 0.11% to 3.5217.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 97.87.
