Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Public Utilities, Real Estate and Electric Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were PDG Realty SA (SA:PDGR3), which rose 7.32% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.440 at the close. Meanwhile, ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3) added 6.67% or 0.08 points to end at 1.28 and EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) was up 5.98% or 0.51 points to 9.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET3), which fell 4.07% or 0.30 points to trade at 7.07 at the close. Duratex SA (SA:DTEX3) declined 3.89% or 0.34 points to end at 8.41 and Banco do Brasil SA (SA:BBAS3) was down 3.85% or 1.04 points to 25.96.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 155 to 119 and 6 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.44% to 29.50 a new 6-months low.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.20% or 2.40 to $1220.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.30% or 0.79 to hit $59.72 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 1.14% or 1.55 to trade at $137.30 .
USD/BRL was down 1.44% to 2.9957, while EUR/BRL fell 0.92% to 3.4188.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 93.40.
