Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3), which rose 7.37% or 0.30 points to trade at 4.37 at the close. Meanwhile, Vale SA (SA:VALE3) added 4.28% or 0.60 points to end at 14.62 and Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) was up 3.82% or 1.16 points to 31.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3), which fell 3.80% or 0.430 points to trade at 10.890 at the close. MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (SA:MRVE3) declined 3.50% or 0.36 points to end at 9.94 and Lojas Renner SA (SA:LREN3) was down 3.27% or 0.70 points to 20.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 200 to 108 and 24 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.56% to 42.53.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.37% or 4.55 to $1224.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.22% or 1.08 to hit $49.70 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.29% or 0.35 to trade at $121.53 .
USD/BRL was up 0.53% to 3.5898, while EUR/BRL rose 0.64% to 4.0038.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 95.40.
