Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Beverage and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 2.18%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were DIeteren SA (BRU:IETB), which rose 8.62% or 2.840 points to trade at 35.770 at the close. Meanwhile, Ackermans V.Haaren (BRU:ACKB) fell 0.30% or 0.40 points to end at 131.80 and Umicore NV (BRU:UMI) was down 0.88% or 0.31 points to 34.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL), which fell 3.71% or 0.35 points to trade at 9.12 at the close. Elia (BRU:ELI) declined 2.91% or 1.175 points to end at 39.160 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BRU:COLR) was down 2.86% or 1.25 points to 42.26.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 116 to 35 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) fell to all time lows; losing 3.71% or 0.35 to 9.12.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.63% or 7.10 to $1139.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 7.75% or 3.81 to hit $45.38 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 8.59% or 4.65 to trade at $49.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.71% to 1.1293, while EUR/GBP rose 0.96% to 0.7378.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.52% at 95.46.
