Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Pharma & Bio-technology, Healthcare and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 1.79%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (BRU:ELI), which fell 0.16% or 0.070 points to trade at 42.670 at the close. Meanwhile, Ackermans V.Haaren (BRU:ACKB) fell 0.60% or 0.80 points to end at 133.20 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BRU:COLR) was down 0.86% or 0.36 points to 41.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL), which fell 8.13% or 0.63 points to trade at 7.08 at the close. Umicore NV (BRU:UMI) declined 4.10% or 1.43 points to end at 33.30 and UCB (BRU:UCB) was down 3.20% or 2.35 points to 71.17.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 133 to 27 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) fell to all time lows; falling 8.13% or 0.63 to 7.08.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.04% or 11.90 to $1133.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.47% or 1.13 to hit $44.57 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.38% or 1.16 to trade at $47.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1227, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.7385.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 96.14.
