Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Technology and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 1.20%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (BR:SOLB), which rose 4.26% or 3.79 points to trade at 92.67 at the close. Meanwhile, Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 1.31% or 0.35 points to end at 27.00 and Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) was up 0.47% or 0.43 points to 91.63 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB), which fell 4.97% or 3.84 points to trade at 73.42 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:ING) declined 3.31% or 0.355 points to end at 10.380 and KBC (BR:KBC) was down 2.86% or 1.390 points to 47.245.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 82 to 52 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.50% or 6.45 to $1289.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.88% or 1.29 to hit $43.49 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.07% or 0.95 to trade at $44.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.1512, while EUR/GBP rose 0.66% to 0.7913.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.34% at 92.84.
