Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Software & Computers and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.89%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC (BRU:KBC), which rose 0.66% or 0.380 points to trade at 57.920 at the close. Meanwhile, D'Ieteren (D) (BRU:IETB) added 0.44% or 0.150 points to end at 34.595 and Bekaert (D) (BRU:BEKB) was up 0.02% or 0.01 points to 26.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BRU:COFB), which fell 6.79% or 7.46 points to trade at 102.30 at the close. Befimmo-Sicafi (BRU:BEFBb) declined 1.74% or 1.130 points to end at 63.810 and Elia (BRU:ELI) was down 1.72% or 0.700 points to 40.105.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 110 to 55 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 1.15% or 13.80 to $1189.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.28% or 0.16 to hit $56.45 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.35% or 0.83 to trade at $62.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.0722, while EUR/GBP fell 0.74% to 0.7138.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 98.28.
