Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.88%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 2.25% or 0.60 points to trade at 27.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 1.63% or 0.650 points to end at 40.500 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) was up 0.84% or 0.95 points to 114.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB (BR:UCB), which fell 2.36% or 1.71 points to trade at 70.60 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 2.34% or 1.165 points to end at 48.665 and ING Groep NV (AS:ING) was down 2.01% or 0.230 points to 11.240.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 85 to 60 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.96% or 11.75 to $1241.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.37% or 0.60 to hit $43.13 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.69% or 0.31 to trade at $44.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1267, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.7777.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 94.73.
