Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Chemicals and Software & Computers sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI), which rose 1.68% or 1.65 points to trade at 100.00 at the close. Meanwhile, KBC (BR:KBC) added 0.39% or 0.210 points to end at 54.600 and UCB (BR:UCB) was up 0.25% or 0.17 points to 68.08 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which fell 4.43% or 0.36 points to trade at 7.85 at the close. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 2.35% or 2.35 points to end at 97.75 and Umicore NV (BR:UMI) was down 1.72% or 0.65 points to 37.13.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 104 to 50 and 2 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.17% or 2.00 to $1166.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.32% or 0.62 to hit $47.72 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.58% or 0.29 to trade at $50.54 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1387, while EUR/GBP rose 0.94% to 0.7470.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 94.77.
