Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Construction & Materials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.66% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BRU:UCB), which rose 0.37% or 0.23 points to trade at 63.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Ackermans V.Haaren (BRU:ACKB) added 0.36% or 0.45 points to end at 124.95 and GDF Suez (PARIS:GSZ) was down 0.06% or 0.01 points to 16.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were bpost NV (BRU:BPOST), which fell 2.49% or 0.62 points to trade at 24.50 at the close. NV Bekaert SA (BRU:BEKB) declined 1.70% or 0.44 points to end at 25.44 and Befimmo-Sicafi (BRU:BEFBb) was down 1.48% or 0.830 points to 55.260.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 122 to 46 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.47% or 5.50 to $1175.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.14% or 0.69 to hit $59.76 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.89% or 0.56 to trade at $63.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.00% to 1.1246, while EUR/GBP fell 0.42% to 0.7157.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 95.24.
