Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were ING Groep NV (AS:ING), which rose 2.28% or 0.255 points to trade at 11.435 at the close. Meanwhile, KBC (BR:KBC) added 1.65% or 0.780 points to end at 48.040 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 0.86% or 0.330 points to 38.830 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which fell 2.58% or 1.18 points to trade at 44.28 at the close. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) declined 2.51% or 1.30 points to end at 50.58 and Elia (BR:ELI) was down 1.83% or 0.820 points to 43.900.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 88 to 50 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.15% or 1.90 to $1252.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.54% or 0.24 to hit $43.94 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.85% or 0.39 to trade at $45.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1305, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.7887.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 94.47.
