Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 7.26% or 3.470 points to trade at 51.250 at the close. Meanwhile, Umicore NV (BR:UMI) added 1.26% or 0.55 points to end at 44.22 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was up 0.81% or 0.280 points to 34.740 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which fell 1.57% or 1.80 points to trade at 112.60 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 1.01% or 0.69 points to end at 67.92 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) was down 0.64% or 0.70 points to 108.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 71 to 68 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.39% or 4.85 to $1248.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.36% or 0.66 to hit $47.75 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.58% or 0.77 to trade at $47.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1199, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.7742.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 95.39.
