Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which rose 2.53% or 3.05 points to trade at 123.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Umicore NV (BR:UMI) added 1.40% or 0.59 points to end at 43.20 and UCB (BR:UCB) was up 1.05% or 0.73 points to 69.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which fell 1.43% or 0.20 points to trade at 13.74 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) declined 1.14% or 0.28 points to end at 24.62 and Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) was down 1.03% or 0.76 points to 72.95.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 75 to 72 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.74% or 9.30 to $1245.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.66% or 0.27 to hit $41.41 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.41% or 0.17 to trade at $41.37 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1237, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.7809.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 95.38.
