Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 1.77%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delhaize Group (BRU:DELB), which rose 8.41% or 6.83 points to trade at 88.03 at the close. Meanwhile, NV Bekaert SA (BRU:BEKB) added 3.76% or 0.97 points to end at 26.89 and Befimmo-Sicafi (BRU:BEFBb) was up 2.75% or 1.500 points to 56.070 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were bpost NV (BRU:BPOST), which fell 0.79% or 0.20 points to trade at 25.05 at the close. Ageas (BRU:AGES) added 0.38% or 0.130 points to end at 34.595 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BRU:ACKB) was up 0.43% or 0.55 points to 129.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 149 to 31 and 1 ended unchanged.

Gold for August delivery was down 0.54% or 6.40 to $1177.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.36% or 0.82 to hit $61.20 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.78% or 1.12 to trade at $64.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.44% to 1.1177, while EUR/GBP fell 0.89% to 0.7104.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.10% at 95.56.
