Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Food Producers sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 1.64%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC (BR:KBC), which rose 4.56% or 2.060 points to trade at 47.265 at the close. Meanwhile, Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) added 3.39% or 2.43 points to end at 74.19 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was up 3.06% or 3.35 points to 112.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which fell 5.64% or 0.26 points to trade at 4.40 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 0.66% or 0.20 points to end at 29.45 and DIeteren SA (BR:IETB) was down 0.28% or 0.075 points to 27.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 111 to 32 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in DIeteren SA (BR:IETB) fell to 5-year lows; down 0.28% or 0.075 to 27.000.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.34% or 4.10 to $1194.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.07% or 0.02 to hit $27.92 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.90% or 0.88 to trade at $31.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.45% to 1.1242, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.7763.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.21% at 96.25.
