Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 1.41%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI), which rose 2.45% or 2.80 points to trade at 117.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 2.30% or 1.330 points to end at 59.100 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was up 2.04% or 0.41 points to 20.46 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB), which rose 0.05% or 0.05 points to trade at 106.70 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 0.12% or 0.03 points to end at 24.39 and Elia (BR:ELI) was up 0.24% or 0.110 points to 45.185.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 103 to 39 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.07% or 0.85 to $1256.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.67% or 0.34 to hit $50.10 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.65% or 0.34 to trade at $51.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.0991, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.9020.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.44% at 97.96.
