Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 1.25%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which rose 3.76% or 1.47 points to trade at 40.53 at the close. Meanwhile, Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) added 3.10% or 2.51 points to end at 83.37 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was up 2.55% or 0.72 points to 28.97 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI), which fell 0.13% or 0.15 points to trade at 115.85 at the close. Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) added 0.09% or 0.09 points to end at 99.64 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 0.30% or 0.150 points to 50.250.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 104 to 35 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) rose to all time highs; rising 0.09% or 0.09 to 99.64.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.07% or 0.95 to $1359.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.01% or 0.46 to hit $44.95 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.98% or 0.46 to trade at $46.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1048, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8507.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.35% at 96.65.
