Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Financials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.94%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delhaize Group (BRU:DELB), which rose 14.52% or 10.51 points to trade at 82.90 at the close. Meanwhile, DIeteren SA (BRU:IETB) added 3.67% or 1.265 points to end at 35.690 and KBC (BRU:KBC) was up 2.63% or 1.490 points to 58.250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Belgacom (BRU:BCOM), which fell 1.09% or 0.36 points to trade at 33.02 at the close. Solvay (BRU:SOLB) declined 1.00% or 1.30 points to end at 129.05 and GDF Suez (PARIS:GSZ) was down 0.73% or 0.14 points to 18.39.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 95 to 74 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in DIeteren SA (BRU:IETB) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.67% or 1.265 to 35.690.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.66% or 7.90 to $1181.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.49% or 0.29 to hit $59.10 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.97% or 0.64 to trade at $65.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.58% to 1.1136, while EUR/GBP fell 1.50% to 0.7143.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.32% at 95.21.
