Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.85% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 1.91% or 0.79 points to trade at 41.93 at the close. Meanwhile, Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 1.60% or 0.50 points to end at 31.82 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was up 1.56% or 1.47 points to 95.72 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB), which fell 0.09% or 0.10 points to trade at 111.55 at the close. Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 110.90 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 0.04% or 0.01 points to 23.39.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 90 to 46 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.34% or 4.55 to $1345.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.09% or 0.04 to hit $43.06 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.06 to trade at $45.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1113, while EUR/GBP rose 0.53% to 0.8548.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 96.09.
