Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ageas (BR:AGES), which rose 3.82% or 1.195 points to trade at 32.510 at the close. Meanwhile, KBC (BR:KBC) added 3.20% or 1.680 points to end at 54.220 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was up 1.43% or 0.55 points to 38.69 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB (BR:UCB), which fell 1.20% or 0.88 points to trade at 72.62 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.06% or 0.640 points to end at 59.580 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was down 0.95% or 1.05 points to 109.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 77 to 62 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.02% or 13.45 to $1331.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.34% or 1.03 to hit $45.08 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.74% or 0.80 to trade at $46.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1164, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8604.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 95.74.
