Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Software & Computers sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.39% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BRU:TNET), which rose 1.74% or 0.88 points to trade at 51.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Proximus NV (BRU:PROX) added 1.42% or 0.48 points to end at 34.20 and Ageas (BRU:AGES) was up 0.82% or 0.300 points to 37.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Umicore NV (BRU:UMI), which fell 1.59% or 0.69 points to trade at 42.96 at the close. Befimmo-Sicafi (BRU:BEFBb) declined 0.22% or 0.130 points to end at 59.770 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BRU:COFB) was up 0.04% or 0.04 points to 99.79.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 119 to 49 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ageas (BRU:AGES) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 0.82% or 0.300 to 37.000.
Gold for August delivery was down 1.97% or 22.30 to $1109.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.80% or 0.41 to hit $50.80 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.55% or 0.32 to trade at $56.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.0856, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.6960.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 97.95.
