Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Construction & Materials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were NV Bekaert SA (BRU:BEKB), which rose 2.15% or 0.53 points to trade at 25.16 at the close. Meanwhile, Engie SA (PARIS:ENGIE) added 1.48% or 0.21 points to end at 14.71 and KBC (BRU:KBC) was up 1.36% or 0.780 points to 58.110 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Proximus NV (BRU:PROX), which fell 2.17% or 0.68 points to trade at 30.41 at the close. Telenet Group (BRU:TNET) declined 0.97% or 0.50 points to end at 51.00 and bpost NV (BRU:BPOST) was down 0.94% or 0.20 points to 21.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 91 to 68 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.94% or 10.70 to $1148.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 4.22% or 1.95 to hit $48.21 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 4.76% or 2.35 to trade at $51.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.76% to 1.1273, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.7402.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.71% at 95.54.
