Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Utilities and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 1.38% or 0.173 points to trade at 12.693 at the close. Meanwhile, Elia (BR:ELI) added 1.30% or 0.600 points to end at 46.585 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 0.95% or 0.20 points to 21.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which fell 1.38% or 0.77 points to trade at 54.89 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 1.15% or 0.22 points to end at 18.92 and UCB (BR:UCB) was down 0.74% or 0.46 points to 61.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 76 to 67 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.32% or 3.80 to $1187.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.91% or 1.84 to hit $45.24 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 3.70% or 1.82 to trade at $47.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.0628, while EUR/GBP fell 0.62% to 0.8498.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 101.14.
