Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC (BR:KBC), which rose 1.23% or 0.630 points to trade at 51.820 at the close. Meanwhile, bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 1.13% or 0.27 points to end at 24.09 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 1.04% or 0.113 points to 10.967 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which fell 1.83% or 0.49 points to trade at 26.59 at the close. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) declined 0.82% or 0.34 points to end at 40.68 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was down 0.72% or 0.10 points to 13.79.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 75 to 72 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.29% or 3.85 to $1322.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.56% or 0.27 to hit $48.10 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.42% or 0.21 to trade at $50.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1238, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8647.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 95.32.
