Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were ING Groep NV (AS:ING), which rose 2.02% or 0.205 points to trade at 10.330 at the close. Meanwhile, Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) added 1.25% or 1.45 points to end at 117.55 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.21% or 0.550 points to 45.850 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elia (BR:ELI), which fell 1.54% or 0.695 points to trade at 44.565 at the close. Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) declined 1.26% or 0.93 points to end at 73.00 and Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) was down 0.77% or 0.70 points to 90.51.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 76 to 68 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.29% or 3.65 to $1273.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.87% or 0.42 to hit $48.73 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.63% or 0.31 to trade at $49.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.35% to 1.1273, while EUR/GBP fell 1.34% to 0.7718.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 94.73.
