Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which rose 2.78% or 3.40 points to trade at 125.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) added 2.59% or 0.51 points to end at 20.21 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was up 1.39% or 0.64 points to 46.72 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 2.02% or 1.130 points to trade at 54.840 at the close. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) declined 1.72% or 0.70 points to end at 40.34 and Umicore NV (BR:UMI) was down 1.58% or 0.87 points to 54.07.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 82 to 63 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 2.59% or 32.75 to $1233.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.46% or 1.10 to hit $43.56 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.44% or 1.12 to trade at $44.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.0846, while EUR/GBP fell 0.85% to 0.8606.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 99.04.
