Investing.com - Asian stocks rose on Tuesday with, with a benchmark regional index headed for a two-month high.
The MSCI Asia Pacific Index added 0.6% in morning trade, while the Shanghai Composite gained 0.36% and Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 Index rose 0.6%.
Elsewhere, the Kospi index in Seoul gained 0.5% and the Hang Seng Index fluctuated near a four-month high. Investors looked ahead to earnings from Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) in the U.S. after the market close on Tuesday to set the tone in tech stocks for the quarter.
Overnight, U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Services and Health Care sectors led shares higher.
At the close in New York, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.03%, while the S&P 500 index added 0.26%, and the NASDAQ Composite index climbed 0.29%.
Investors will be awaiting the outcome of Wednesday’s Federal Reserve policy meeting for further clarification on when interest rates might start to rise.
Friday’s preliminary data on U.S. fourth quarter growth will also be in focus.
