I've also found using a 4,10 and 40sma. Along with the River strategy to help make decisions as to if it will bounce or not and carry on over a rock. If anyone wants to know how and why, i ll let you know, just ask.

Of course, so.... 4 hr chart place a 4,10,40 sma. If the 4 and 10 sma are above the 40sma were in an up trend. If the 4 crosses the 10 in this situation a buy signal is generated when the 4 crosses back down its an exit signal and vice versa the way around. So you need to look at it when it hits a rock on the river chart, if the 4 is not about to cross, chances are it will carry on. Using a macd with this is also important.

This is also works on a smaller time frame. When i say vice versa i mean if in down trend and the 4 and 10 are under the 40.

Hi Laurence. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Do you follow Scott's River Strategy exactly as described on his website? If so, if you add your moving averages as well, the chart becomes incredibly busy or do you have two different charts? You mentioned earlier that you use support and resistance levels as well? Do you place much emphasis on candle formations? If yes, which ones?

Closed ftse short @6779 for 20pts, mix 1 block and 4 blocks. Bit crap but Dax seems to be holding it up and as it touched 200sma, im not going to push it.
