"RWE share rises sharply: RWE raises earnings forecast - Cartel Office sees a dominant position in electricity generation In its latest analysis of the competitive situation on the electricity generation market, the Bundeskartellamt assumes that the energy producer RWE holds a dominant position. 2021 was characterized by a renewed increase in demand for electricity, the first power plant shutdowns as part of the phase-out of coal and a comparatively low level of electricity from renewable energies being fed in. "As expected, the power plant park of the still largest electricity producer RWE became indispensable for covering the demand for electricity for a significantly larger number of hours," said the President of the Cartel Office, Andreas Mundt, according to a statement on Thursday. "According to our investigations, RWE is above the threshold for a market-dominant position."

the company is super cheap at this price. The emissions certificates that they own alone are worth half their market cap.
