Producers have already cut production enough to carry gains in natural gas price for 8-months. Think about wells that were not drilled over the last years and the same number of wells that stopped producing. Gas production will precipitately drop to eventually 85 Bcf/d. by November resulting in an under supply during a high demand timeline of La Nina Winter.

With the price for July 24 contract at around 2.39 and August 24 contract at 2.49, it will probably help the producers to decide to increase the production soon.

Klaus: he just wants to protect assets from price erosion if spot price doesn’t increase to August levels. However I think it just might increase to 2.49 and producers will keep the brakes on production. They really need to!

Henry: i think when the pipeline ruptured in Canada and the price rallied 15 cents in just a few minutes, the producers may have duly noted the effect of lower production, which might be much more profitable than selling high volumes at lower prices. We’ll see what they do.

But the reality is that the producers all have huge debts. So the most important for them is to sell as much as they can to make at least their minimum payments. If the is 2.49 instead of 1.52, it should encourage them to produce much more, shouldn't it?

Wait till it hits 1.60. Then you will have lots of advice to sell the rollover premium for next month.
